The plans detail exactly where the cockpit is placed. Rob leaves three inches between the backrest and the seat back and the cockpit opening on the plans is longer.

I reduced the space behind the seat back and the coaming to one and a half inches and the overall cockpit length to 26 inches.

There are no figures or calculations on the plans but I wouldn't give them much attention in anycase. At this stage I tend to go for a design purely on impulse, not logic.
