Yes, no problem.
I've done it in exactly the same situation.

Heat the glass at the highest setting on the gun.
Get a corner started with a knife or putty knife, then use pliers to pull on the glass as you heat the point where it has released.
Keep the gun moving (not real fast), don't just sit it on one point.

The only problem I had was getting impatient and grabbing the glass with my bare hand too close to where I was heating. :)
~15 minutes did the whole deck. Looks like a giant snake skin.

You will have to sand the epoxy residue off of course.
