If you're working in the basement, you can put in a bathroom type exhaust fan there, ducted outside and it'll keep the basement under a slight negative pressure, keeps any dust in the basement and out of the house. Often the biggest issue with fumes, dust etc. in a home work shop is you can't get away from it even when you're not working on it. This eliminates that problem fairly inexpensively.
