Other: Is a Downriver Racing Kayak good for general use?

Hello,

I have always recieved my kayak building advice from this forum, but now I have a question about a commercial kayak and I don't know where to go, so I hope you guys don't mind me asking here.

There is someone locally selling a downriver kayak for $150. It is a SEDA brand, and appears to be in decent shape. This seems very cheap for what appears to be a high-end kayak, however I problem is I don't do downriver racing. So my question is, would this boat be of any use for general flatwater kayaking?

The model is SEDA VERTEX. It (like all downriver kayaks apparently) is 14'9" long, and has a 24" beam at the "hips" and weights 36lbs.
It is made of fiberglass reinforced with Kevlar and has a rounded V bottom.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin Barnett
