Ken, I thought about you having access to a spectacular boat in Utah now. So you drive out to Antelope Island (there is a causeway) and I launch from the developed Campground, you can launch from the Marina and it adds maybe 3 miles to the paddle but you avoid the long drag in the snow. I google earthed mother in law and came up with the coordinates below. Essentially you paddle around buffalo point, past white rock bay, Elephant Head is the prominent black rock outcropping one bay south of white rock and mother in law is on the south end of the bay that elephant head is on the north end of. If you are here in October I highly recommend Lake Powell or in the summer Flaming Gorge and Yellowstone lake are close by also.
