I think most of us in the sport have felt the weight of this event. Most of us have been inspired by the people involved on the paddle, some of us have known them. I think all of us can with hindsight see things they could have and should have done differently and all of us know we have at one time or another put ourselves into the same situation and have been fortunate enough not to pay the price. We have all learned from this, reflected on this, and pondered about this and in our own way mourned because of this. For me the most important take away is life is short and fragile. I have some of my own reasons to be reflecting on this. I would like to encourage in all of our thinking and changing think about those people and things that are most important in life and make changes that focus on those important aspects of our life. At this point it is not about what could have been done on that day, it is about what can be done today.
