Bill

I am in full agreement that it is better practice to seal all sides with epoxy. Customers' paddle boards are always sealed but I was more concerned about the vent being left open by mistake and getting water inside the board. It is very common amongst wood surfboard builders to leave the inside unsealed to save weight. I have some unsealed boards myself that show no problems after many years.

I am curious as to how long it took for your problems to show up? Are we talking 10+ years? I am in the Pacific North West, would a more humid climate add to this rotting problem? (Funny asking that as it rains here all the time!)
