At the end of my kayak building classes, I often wrap students boats in stretch wrap. It works well.

Wrap starting at the bow, going all the way to the stern and then back to the bow. Always finish the wrapping going towards the front of the boat so the overlaps are facing backwards. If you have the overlaps open to the front they will fill with wind and rip all the wrapping off. Some tape to hold things from flapping.

It does depend on how along you are on your project, but wrapping works pretty well.
