Strip: Deep scratch repair *PIC*

Recently there was a thread regarding a deep scratch repair. I have just done one, so I thought I'd share the results.

the scratch was from riding over a rock. it was narrow, but deep. Right through to the glass, and even slightly through the glass in places.

Usually I don't much bother about scratches, but this one was deep and I did not want water getting into the wood, so I got on to it right away.

I sanded all the damaged glass away in a narrow trough, then widened the edges of the trough to get an overlap on the deck glass, then laid in two layers of saturated 4 0z S-Glass, squeezed out the excess resin so that the glass would not float out of the the depression, let it get tacky, then added a thick fill coat.

The photos show the rest.

The result leaves a darkened mark where the wood grain absorbed the resin, but that is unavoidable. Et
