However, the initial findings seem to indicate plants for the most part absorb toxic materials/heavy metal rather than metabolizing them to something non-toxic. Current general thought, is to avoid growing vegetables in containers known to leech such chemicals...

Was thinking Cedar should be relatively safe - or atleast safer than PVC that was made in non-food/water safe processes...
