Sand with 320 grit wet, 600 grit wet, 1000 grit wet, examining carefully that you have removed ALL the scratches from the previous paper before moving to the next finer paper. Then buff with extra fine polishing compound.

Or, go paddling once in the Adirondacks, with all the scratches no one will ever notice the dust. There is no performance increase above 320 grit paper.
