Yes - that is pretty much what I read - I think the big reason the authors from the sites I read about repair were against epoxy repairs were because polyester based gelcoats don't stick to the epoxy - but since I am pretty sure I would want to change the deck color to a much lighter color or white - I guess gelcoats are out anyway...
