A crack in the wood or just a scratch?

Matching color is extremely difficult if its finished as clear wood.

If its something that has to be filled for structural reasons like a crack in the wood then you fill with epoxy or epoxy and a little glass and pray the color looks OK. Sometimes you can tint the varnish with some artist oil paint to get a darker tone to match but its not easy to match a wood/epoxy/varnish combo thats been sucking up UV for a year or more.
