Tonight I am stuck at home doing a remodel on a bathroom. Last night after a long day at work, a trip to the big box to get the stuff for a remodel, and a hard hour of yard work I debated if it was worth catching the last bit of sun on a paddle. I decided to make one more push and get out. With nothing to focus on my mind rapidly turned to that subject we all seem to dwell on for about 50 years of our life, how much money does it really take to retire. The Western Grebe have started to nest. I accidentally came upon a young male grebe that didn't realize the mating season was over, he was doing his best to impress the ladies and got pretty mad when I paddled buy, had to take his picture. Bull frogs were in full mating glory, if I had to compare my skill at romance I would probably compare myself to a bull frog. My wife would disagree she kind of likes bull frogs. The weather was changing fast and I was able to take in a great sunset on the lake and then drive down to the valley and take in another great sunset with spectacular mountains as a backdrop. It was well worth the extra effort. Still loving the Greenland paddle but it is a little slobbery for photography.
