Marc, If you are interested in some of the better writings on this subject from the believers I would suggest Tim Flannery, I liked "The Weather Makers" and "The Eternal Frontier" the best out of his books. They are a little more general and a little dated but good reads, he does have some more current stuff also but I like his older books. Lester Browns "Plan B" series and "World on Edge" gives a more policy oriented view on the topic. Jared Diamond has two interesting books that document the effect of climate on civilization "Collapse" and "Guns, Germs, and Steal", Collapse being the more focused on the factors including environmental factors that lead to the fall of civilizations (Guns, Germs, and Steal focuses on factors that allowed civilizations to thrive). All of these books are obviously biased but I think they all provide some good information. If you want to get the other perspective talk to almost any republican or business leader (by the way I tend to vote republican and I have spent my life in corporate business). I honestly have not found a credible book that demonstrates that global warming is not a real trend. That being said it is very unlikely that you can keep your job as a biologist in Yellowstone if you do not support reintroduction of wolves and have something very favorable to say about the impacts (I am pro wold also). Politics play high in any research and scientific institutions are as corrupt and bias as business and political institutions. I am just glad that there are sincere seekers of truth that have the discipline and knowledge needed to cut through all of the institutional posturing for gain.
