I've been lurking for a number of years, trying to glean as much knowledge as I can. In that time, I've been working, slowly on a One Ocean Cape Ann double. Its been five years since I started it, and I am now just to the point of ordering fiberglass...

Anyway, I started my son in a kayak about three years ago. The standard plastic kids barge. He get around just fine, and has endurance to match mine (which isn't saying much on my part). I want to start teaching him some more advance strokes, and how to roll. The plastic barge was not going to do the job, needless to say.

My son and I have been working on this for the last six weeks, give or take. This is his first big project, so it has been fun teaching him a lot of new to him things. He has done a lot of the work, from cutting out the plywood on the scroll saw, to sanding and finishing.

A shout out to Tom Yost. Thanks for the plans and techniques. This is our first SOF boat, and it has been rewarding with just how fast it has come along.

It is made of WRC and baltic birch, glue with gorilla glue and screwed with stainless steel screws.
