I wonder if you could pay a friendly hacker (oxymoron?) to insert some kind of a banner in the website saying it was illegal.

I think it would be unusual for anybody to buy (or order) one of those 'not under license' boats without referring to the designer's website. A banner or notice on the designer's website: "Please don't buy my designs unless the builder has purchased legitimate plans" would do the job.
Considering the (small?) amount of money involved, it may not be worth the trouble.

Whenever I see molds offered here, I'm happy that the offer usually has the proviso that a legit set of plans must be purchased.
