Yes to float bags. You can make them, but I don't personally find it worth the effort when sites like NRS or Colorado Kayak Supply are full of all different flavors. Just be ABSOLUTELY SURE you run lines from the cockpit to the ends of the boat so you can pull the bags to the end, or you will never use them. Deflate them and pull them back a little bit so you don't trap water between the frame and the bag when you're not using it. When you get to the put-in pull them to the end and blow them up again.
