For me, the little plywood U shaped jigs that hold the strip to the form with a spring clamp does wonders, extra pair of hands. I made up a bunch of those little U shaped jigs, have them in a box when I'm stripping. If you want to use the hot glue, just use the clamp on one side of the form and the clamp on the other.
