Might be a bad place to launch.

My wife and I were hiking along a steep brook with waterfalls and pools on AT trail in Franconia Notch, NH in winter.

Several of the pools below waterfalls were filled with floating frisbee sized ice disks. We stood there in disbelief, laughing!

The temperature must need to be just right. The current from the waterfall recirculated these disks along a frozen side of the pool and we could see how each disk rolled along the ice edge getting bigger, then flushed out into the pool and all over and over again. There were dozens of them and we had no camera!

I've actually seen them again (yes and big foot too, you are saying) in a local river in Maine, again, no camera, BUT NEXT TIME!!!
