So in the link to Laughing Loon Kayaks, in the shop tips, the author recommends using Northern White Cedar for stripping below the waterline, because of the wood's flexibility. Been searching the Internet today, and still can't find a source for that particular wood. Any suggestions? Alternatives?

Thanks!

Listings of sources for northern white cedar. Bill is correct, the NWC forrest is across northeastern US and Canadian border.

Atlantic white cedar is available on the mid Atlantic states.

Western red cedar will bend, not as quite as well as NWC but will work fine if you have difficulty obtaining NWC.

Use local woods if possible.
