Did they specify the cure times and temperatures for the panels? Full strength isn't developed for weeks, IIRC.

I'm curious about the importance (or lack of importance) of the glue bond between strips. Would Bjorn Thomasson's method of dry strips with epoxy added afterward give a different result than strips bonded with yellow glue?

A variable height drop system would have given more quantitative results, though the visual differences are pretty dramatic.

I've lost the link to the WEST tests which IIRC were similar, but tested wood thickness and glass thickness...
