Once again, I did not quite say what I was thinking. I kind of envisioned that one might install the sheer clamp in the hull, then use the outside of the clamp as a gluing surface and to provide some stiffness as you then compressed it all with tape. In concept, it avoids screws and interior tape, so long as everything aligns perfectly. Mind you, I'm just completing my first boat outside of school - so I'm just noodling.
