Hi Rich,

I don't glass over the sheer lamps. That would kind of defeat the purpose for me.

You can use sheer clamps with any hull/deck arrangement, possibly even easier with the vertical sided style boats, but it is probably wise to use screws to pull the top half of the sheer lamp against the side of the deck. Every foot or so would probably be enough. Once the screws have been removed I would drill holes and put in exotic plugs to add some decoration.

Also one would be wise to chose a timber that won't be prone to cracking along its length.
