I've launched my Shearwater 17 and have been out twice with it now. The second time was much more relaxed and I was able to get a feel for how the kayak responds. I noticed it is quite sensitive to foot pressure in terms of how it tracks. Right now, I have a layer of minicel on the forward bulkhead and I haven't installed the foot stretchers as when I sat in the boat at CLC, my feet were right up against the bulkhead. With my build, I'm finding that my feet are up against the bulkhead slightly pointed.

Would it be better to take out the minicell and try to get the footrests to fit, put in additional minicell foam. I'd like to get this to fit me right, but am not completely certain as to the best way to go about it.

Thanks!
