Yep, I agree completely. I've been a rescue boat for lots of paddling trips and done quite a few rescues, even with good perimeter lines it's difficult for the dumped paddler to hold onto the boat, would be impossible without them. People dumped out of their boats usually are in a bit of a panic so don't react as they normally would.
