A small low angle block plane. I assume you will be doing a rolling bevel - not the bead and cove strips.

This assumes you have access to typical wood working tools and will not be using a plane to thickness the wood and make the strips straight.
I.E., something like a table saw to cut the strips. A bandsaw or a jig saw to cut the frames for the tool.

I hope you will be recording your build, I have the precut frames to set up the tool and should be starting this fall. There is not much in the way of a recorded build to help with suggestions.
