Very sound ideas, thanks for the input. In retrospect I did use beveled strips to close the bottom and at the sheers, of my Guillemot, but was pretty anal about B&C in the rest of the kayak. But it makes sense, especially in a canoe to use 'em only around the chines. Will help to have a good plan going in to milling of strips. In the middle of making Christmas presents now. Made this for my wife earlier in the year, now everyone wants one...
