Strip: Sorry - yet another update

I sneak in work whenever I can and got a few more cool things done today :)

1) I set up a new blog on blogger so I have a spot to post all the photos (not to knock on this forum, but blogger's interface is just easier to work with).

Here's the link:

I posted the first article just now and will back fill with some of the photos I've collected already.

2) I watched these videos on youtube

and made 3 featherboards today - it actually took longer to watch the videos than it did to cut the featherboards, but they're finally done so can start ripping strips pretty much any time I get a free moment. I'll post the pics to the blog but wow they came out really nice :) I could have bought 3 for less than $20, but this was one of those things I had to do myself :)

3) I finally finally finally, made a snap on platform for my dust collector so that the cyclone sits on top of the CT 26 Dust extractor, rather than sit off to the side on the floor...There's a Festool snap on cyclone "system" that someone sells for like $200...I did the same thing with a $26 dust deputy, some scrap 3/4" plywood, and 2 x 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot.

For anyone that cares, it's a 11 1/8th x 15 3/8 with 2 notches for the locking tabs... A few half inch screws and washers and 5 minutes later - i was in business...Now I have a dust collector that I can move from one side of the basement to the other by just wheeling the dust extractor.

Dust is turning out to be a HUGE problem with my equipment...the table saw alone throws so much (even when hooked up to the DC) that I have to where a respirator when i work on it.

Not sure when I'll get to the next step, but I'm excited to finally start ripping some wood :)

Looking forward to posting more updates and thanks to everyone who's chimed in to help me get to this point. I can't stress enough how appreciative I am of the time and frustration you've saved me already.

Cheers
