I've always used a spacer between the rim and the deck to allow for the seal and to have flush hatches. I've got my hatches cut and CF rims laminated. Some builders think that a spacer is not necessary with a thin enough seal. I'm not entirely sure that this will be water tight in all conditions and let the hatches sit flush.
Thoughts? Opinions?
