S&G: hatch spacer issue - help needed

I'm working on my Shearwater 17 S&G build, and ran into a problem today. When I traced the forward hatch lines onto the deck, the inside edge of the spacer lined up nicely with the seam between the deck and the sheer panel. I cut out the hatch; however when I went to fit the hatch spacer, it was not lining up with the hole and needed to be shifted back about 3/4" to line up properly. I have the feeling that I'm going to need to make new pieces for the sill, spacer and the sill lip that comes in two pieces.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I could do?

Thanks,
Gero
