As a supplier I can tell you that it should be cheaper to do it yourself in most cases. If I build something for you, I have to charge you for my labor, shipping and other expenses. So if you have the skills, time and tools then you are almost always cheaper to build yourself. Many people don't have the tools or skills that buy frames from me. To some it is worth the extra cost for the convience and lack of aggravation too. So the answer is not exactly clear cut.
