I really like using the polyester and the PL Premium. The paint's mostly for keeping the UV off the PL, and for decoration. That's one reason I tried the Concrete Sealant; it itself is UV resistant. Should the paint get scraped off a bit, I don't feel like I've got to touch it up right away. It's also supposed to be waterproof, but I'm guessing I may spread it a bit too thin in spots.

That recycled fabric isn't bad... it just isn't great. Factor in the price of it (I am a cheap %@$&(@*!, aren't I?), and it's fine. I do worry about how it would hold up over time, especially with the shale rocks we've got lining the beds of most of our rivers around my area. I could afford to reskin it every season at that price, though. And if I were somewhere lucky enough to have sandy beaches... not a bad idea.

I'm definitely leaning towards the 11 oz next time, and going back to my original PL Premium. I might stick with the latex paint. I'll find it in gloss, somewhere, instead of the semi-gloss.

Just out of curiosity, when you're applying the latex directly to the fabric, how many coats do you end up slapping on?
