I have only built 4 skin on frame kayaks. I prefer lashing and pegging. Generally only peg on the stem and stern. A running lash will save a lot of time, On my first boat using it took about 15 min. to lash one chine to 22 ribs. On a Yost type build you could run the lashing across the beam. It is pretty simple and quick requiring only 2 knots per lashing.
