I have never sat in a kayak before. I've never done a woodworking project before. I've pretty much never done any step of this entire process before.

Western red cedar stringers, oiled with boiled linseed
BS1088 1/2" marine plywood frames
Red oak, one-piece bent coaming with polyester rope lip.
All lashings, sewing and coaming attachment made with artificial sinew
Varnished skin and coaming with Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane
No glue, no screws anywhere
After this launch I applied a little PL Premium into the nook of the rolled seal on the bow and stern due to a minor leak.

Water test was last night, tonight I'm going to Algonquin Park for an 8-day portage loop! I have never portaged or been backwoods camping.
