I'm probably not quite ready for business yet. I'd like to put this thing on the water and see if it floats! :) Also, the printing could definitely use some tweaking. I might post this as a kickstarter if there's enough interest, and if Tom gives his blessings. If i were selling this as a kit, I'd probably throw in all the associated prints such as the stations, the drill guides, the chine/bow plates, and the coaming. It would be a "boat in a box", if you will.

As for a fixed frame, I'd probably modify the model to use square stringers for the wood, as well as holes for the pegs. I'm less familiar with building fixed frame kayaks, so if you can suggest ideas, I'd be willing to make the changes to the model.

I have never built a boat before, so I have no idea how much 1/2" marine plywood weighs. I do know that I'm using way too high of a print density for most of the cross sections. I'm sure if I used virgin plastic (generally stronger), 1/2" thickness and just 20% infill for all the pieces, it will be pretty light and very strong.

Feel free to mention this on the other forum. Alternative, if you link me to the discussion, I'd gladly step in!
