Thanks Howard. I did this on about 4 strips of my boat, using a scarf joint instead of a butt joint, but same idea. You can see the joint but they get lost in the overall impression of the bigger picture of the boat form. I tried to minimize them. You really can't use these joints however when there is substantial twist from one end of a strip to the other as the spring back makes the ends rotate out of alignment.
