If I were to make a minor repair to cracked gel coat and the damaged fiber glass on a production kayak using epoxy with silica and some white dye would it last??

I think we need to define 'last' here.
Stored out of the sun, I think it would last for years.
At that point, enough hull scratches should have accumulated to merit sanding,filling,fairing,priming and painting the hull.
