I've got two Bosch sanders and like them both, the old one has been used for longer than I can remember in my commercial shop and it's still going strong, very rugged sander. Done lots of big boat varnish jobs with no problems at all. Don't know what problems you've had

I've had a couple of Bosch sanders - the first one was one of the green-body ones (not pro quality??) years ago and it worked OK but needed more velcro pads (Bosch and home-glued) than I liked. I replaced that with a 'better quality' - a lot more expensive, anyway - 3107 DVS sander which has been a hand-number from the get-go - moves the hand as much as the paper, it seems (no, I am not pressing down on the sander...). I resorted to gel palm work gloves and my hands still tingle for hours after using it for more than a few minutes. It's heavy, with an awkward handle that keeps it out of tight areas. Replacement velcro pads for that sander cost almost as much (in Canada - might be different in the US?) as a new on-sale cheap DeWalt ROS.
I have several cheap DeWalt 421 ROS sanders and they seem to work OK, but are, unfortunately, throw-away tools- not my preference.
I do all my sanding these days with a good breeze blowing through the shop - advantage of living in the PNW. If I had to sand indoors, I'd have to save up and spring for the Festool sander/vac - a friend has Festool and sands in the house with zero dust release - but that's a lot lot of $$. The Bosch with vac hose (more $$) attached to a hefty Craftsman shopvac still releases dust - and I hate the noise of the vac.
YMMV, etc...
