Ha! The C-clamp works really well, and the whole thing is just a piece of scrap wood sticking off the rear rack, with the painter looped around a couple of drywall screws. I can't believe how well it works. Braking with a heavy load on the trailer is usually terrible, but the insane long wheelbase (and pretty light weight) of the boat makes for an easy ride, just have to pay attention on corners.

Last night we took it behind the tandem bike, and it was a much quicker ride, but still nice and smooth. I highly recommend a little pre- and post-paddle bike ride!
