Ken Sutherland and I completed a very relaxing 9-day kayaking expedition along the Winnipeg River, from Minaki, Ontario to Pointe du Bois, Manitoba. The focus on this trip was purely fun: fishing and photography. We got a little more than we counted on with 5 rapids, one portage around a dam and a really windy final day to our take out point. If anyone wants to consider a relatively short but relaxing paddling along the very wide, island filled Winnipeg River, I'd recommend you read our trip reports to be filed some time soon. The trip is easy, the rapids either doable or worth portaging around, the scenery fantastic and the fishing deliciously trouble free. I'll try to get my trip report completed within the next two weeks...got a problem processing my images which my Elements 9 software refuses to recognize...something about my raw files being the wrong file. At any rate, I am sure Ken will get his report done soon enough as well, pics show a good time with cooperative weather all around.
