Strip: skeg and rigging on night heron

my night heron project is moving along and i have finished glassing inside and outside of deck and hull and now getting ready to start on hatches, rigging and a skeg installation. interested in comments about rear hatch location relative to skeg. strikes me that the plans for the night heron have the rear hatch relatively far forward of the likely skeg installation......but thinking that i should adjust so i can reach skeg.

wanted to ask if any advice on optimal location for skep relative to how far forward from the stern. i purchased a pre-made skeg from superior kayaks. i also wanted to ask for advice on rigging plans and approaches and ideas for hatch attachments. i was thinking, based on reviewing a lot of approaches of going with the redfish kayaks soft padeye approach....but wanted to sound out the community for ideas. also wanted to ask about rigging plans. i do a lot of distance work....and want perimeter lines....but looking for some ideas.

thanks for any ideas/references or pics that might be helpful.
