Just a couple of points: if you have not fibreglassed inside the deck yet, watch out for the hatches changing shape compared to the deck if you leave it too long (too long is until either the temperature or the humidity change), and make sure you seal the cut edges really well, otherwise water can get into the endgrain when you are using the kayak.
