I have ended up not putting notches in the frame.
They are just cut flat with the stringer resting on the flat.
The notch seems to always need to be adjusted making a big mess.
I do dowel each stringer to frame point with epoxy and make epoxy fillets on all sides of the joint.

Earlier boats I forgot to cut the relief on the deck and really regreat seeing the hard line where the skin hits the frame. I would be more upset on the bottom since that would make a lumpy bottom with the boat loaded.
Check out the bottom some time with a person in the boat and see just how much the skin deflects between the stringers on the bottom.
