Thank you to all who have shared their thoughts.
I guess just about the worst thing to do would be leave off the safety lines. Some of the options are great examples of craftsmanship.
I just could not bring myself to do the kit option of metal u-bolt like parts screwed to the deck. Looks terrible and a reap potential for snagging me when I try to crawl back into the the cockpit.

Does anyone know if it is worth it to epoxy wooden fittings to the decks wooden surface and then glass over--would be a royal pain. Based on some of the comments seems if it is epoxy to epoxy there will be adequate strength.
I really like the Maroske fittings and have them on the rear deck. Sadly, front deck is already attached making it more difficult to install the Maroske fittings.

Any idea how many attachment points I should go for on the front deck. I am rather short 5'2" ish, concerned about catching on fittings during the paddle stroke. I was thinking of mounting the first attachment forward of the front edge of the combing, then there is a fitting at the bow. Would two per side be adequate. I assume some of this is follow the contour of the deck. I like the idea of a clean deck and can add more fittings latter if needed.

The soft padeyes bolted through would certainly work and seem straight forward but again getting into the interior is tricky--so back to surface mounting for ease of placement.
Next boat will be better and there will be a next one for sure.
