Question: Is there any real world concern re mounting my fittings for the front deck on the surface using epoxy as the "glue" per normal building practices??? By that I mean West System 105 resin with either 206 or 207 hardener and 403 microfibers adhesive filler.

I also have MAS resin and harden but the hardener has darkened considerably-- to the color of fake maple pancake syrup. It seems to set up OK.

Note to self: if you ever build another kayak finish it before the hardener has a chance to darken. How many years is that anyway. Don't tell anyone.

I am building a CLC kit and since the front deck is installed it seems like a bit much to mount anything from the underside. On the rear deck which I have not yet fixed to the hull I have through the deck fittings, since I may have to crawl back into the cockpit just in case I dump myself into the wet stuff despite my amazing skill level.

I guess I should stop over thinking every detail. If I had I could have been out paddling this thing for more years than I care to admit.
