Some years ago I took the family for a Winter drive to test my new snow tires (Michelin: awesome). After passing a large grader lying on its side in the ditch I decided it was time to head home. As we turned South I saw a long sequence of snow drifts out to the center of the road or more, and safely negotiated all but the last one, where there was a couple of AWDs, one in the ditch and one trying to pull it out. They were blocking the only clear part of the road. In my mirror I saw huge clouds of snow being thrown up by a snowplow in the distance.

That video sequence was pretty much what I imagined happening when the plow arrived.

It didn't seem a healthy neighbourhood for the kids and missus so I took a peek to make sure the road ahead was clear of traffic, backed up, put on a bit of speed and blasted through the edge of the drift, which was probably 4 feet high where we hit. That old wagon was a piece of garbage but it was heavy and tough; the impact didn't even bend the grill. Do that today and it would cost a couple of thou to fix . . .
