Strip: Stretched Guillemot

I am a 6 foot 160 - 162 pound experienced paddler and have just purchased Guillemot plans. My temptation is to scale the length kayak up slightly from 17 feet to around 18 feet (the length of the Guillemot "L"). Yes I can hear you saying ' why did you purchase the smaller plans?' Anyway enough about that. Has anyone any advice re scaling up by about a foot by simply adjusting the length between the forms? I don't want to butcher a perfectly good design for the sake of a foot...

Also are there any New Zealand Guillemot owners out there??
