ET,

You are good at stirring up conversation, but this is a weak effort.

1. I may swear off (since I'm swearing at) SOF. I have a consistent problem of the skin becoming loose after about a week after heat tensioning the skin.
2. I have started a test piece to try out Bjorn's method of stripping without glue as you put down the strips. It certainly is quick, but in the highest curvature areas (turn of the bilge?) the gaps get somewhat large on the surface. This may require some rolling bevel work rather than just putting them down square. I haven't smoothed the outside surface to see what the result is. The one problem is that with Titebond and packing tape on the forms, the hull sticks lightly to the forms, enough to do the surfacing in place. Putting epoxy on after stripping allowed the hull to pop off the forms after removing staples, then I had to nail it back down to work on it.
3. My next boat will be a Biadarka with traditional ends - I like the hull shape but not the extra work. At least I think it will be. More waffling next week.
4. What is your next boat? and why?
