I pulled the first hull off the forms and made a subliminal decision, there and then, that it was too heavy.The second hull ended up much lighter than the first[subjectively] so I found myself stripping the deck with this hull on the forms.The ancient cedar rafter I used to make the strips for this deck was extremely light.The first hull,seen on the old dryer, is very lovely and wont go to waste.I will build a large cockpit version,maybe, so I can still get into it when I am old[er].Someone will help me down to the water with it,I hope.It is only a pound or two heavier!Got to get the weight accumulation trajectory as low as possible.

All my decks have a convention going. Parallel to the shear forward of the cockpit and parallel to the center line aft.I like the strips to transition seemlessly from one style to the other.

It makes things a little more challenging but I keep on doing it because I am afflicted badly, I guess.
I must now resist the temptation to process the deck surface to perfection until all risk of inadvertent damage is over.The current state is very rough begging for a little bit of planing ,perhaps...No!
